I strongly believe that there can never be too many plants in a home :) Apart from bringing a part of nature into our home, plants have another very important quality - they clean the air in the room.
Although all plants can do this, there are some who are true experts in the field.
The plants I decided to introduce you to today are just like that and the best thing is that they are all easy to grow, they only need light, regular watering and love.
Find out the 6 plants that every home should have:
1. Golden Pothos
Beautiful and unpretentious plant, I would say one of my favorites. It's leaves are smooth and shiny. You can find different varieties, densely green or streaked with golden stripes.
Care: Likes to be in the light, but without direct sunlight. Highly moisture-loving plant. In the presence of natural light it is ideal for growing in the bathroom. If you keep it in the room, it is good to spray it from time to time. It is watered once a week on warm days and less often in winter.
Propagation: To propagate the plant, you need to cut off a small tip of it and put it in water until it takes root. It can then be transferred to a pot with universal soil.
Air purification: According to a study by NASA, the plant removes pollutants such as benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene from the air.
2. Snake plant
With its sharp gray leaves, this plant brings a beautiful and interesting accent to any room. One of the plants that is said you can not kill. :)
Care: Loves bright rooms without direct sunlight. The plant does not need abundant watering, you will know when is the time when you feel the soil is dry.
Propagation: The plant is propagated very easily by breaking off the leaves from the mother plant and placing them in a pot.
Air purification: The plant purifies the air by absorbing toxins through the leaves and producing pure oxygen. Ideal plant for the bedroom. While most other plants emit carbon dioxide at night (in the absence of photosynthesis), our Snake plant continues to produce oxygen.
3. Spider plant
Beautiful green plant, streaked with white stripes, with delicate aerial roots, suitable for arranging in hanging pots.
Care: The plant does not need frequent watering, make sure the soil is completely dry before watering again. It adapts easily to different light, but if you notice that its white stripes begin to disappear, then it needs more light.
Propagation: The plant reproduces easily by separating the small hanging baby plants from the mother plant. You can leave them in a container with water until the short roots sprout or plant them directly in the soil.
Air purification: This plant is a champion in air purification. According to a NASA study, it removes about 90% of formaldehyde from the air.
4. Monstera
One of the most beautiful plants, at least in my opinion. With its large heart-shaped leaves, Monstera has become a favorite ornamental plant for many interior designers.
Care: Prefers brighter rooms, but again, without direct sunlight on it. The plant is watered once a week, before checking if the soil is dry.
Propagation: Propagated by cutting a leaf from the plant in its lower part, below the protrusion of its stem. Then place in a bowl of water until roots form. When the roots become visible, move to a new pot with soil.
Air purification: According to a study by NASA, the plant removes pollutants such as benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene from the air.
5. English ivy
A wonderful creeping plant with delicate leaves. It looks great both in hanging pots and on high shelves.
Care: The plant does not like strong light, so keep it away from the window. Water when the soil dries out, if you overdo it with water, the leaves begin to weigh and turn brown.
Propagation: Creeping plants are very easy to propagate. As with Golden pothos, you can make a new English ivy by cutting off the tip of the mother plant, placing it in a bowl of water and waiting for it to develop a root.
Air purification: According to a study by NASA, the plant removes pollutants such as benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene from the air.
6. Peace Lilly
If you are a fan of beautiful, delicate plants that bloom with elegant neutral colors, consider inviting the beautiful Peace Lilly into your home.
Care: The plant adapts easily to both lighter and darker areas of the home. If you notice drought or browning of the leaves, it is likely that the plant will receive too much direct light. The plant is much more tolerant of drying than watering. Water when you feel the soil is dry.
Propagation: The plant is propagated by separating newly grown stems from the mother plant and transferring them to a new pot.
Air purification: According to a study by NASA, the plant removes pollutants such as benzene and formaldehyde from the air.
